If you can't sign in to your CompuServe account because you've forgotten your password, you can reset it for a fresh start.

First, enter your username:

1. Go to the sign-in page.
2. Enter your username.
3. Click Next.
4. Click I forgot my password.

You'll need to verify information on file for your account before you can reset your password. The verification options available to you depend on what recovery information is on file for your account. If you follow the steps for a verification method listed below and don't see it as an option, it isn't available for your account and you'll need to use a different option.

Send a verification code to your recovery phone number

1. If prompted, enter the missing digits in the phone number you're shown and click Submit. The digits you enter should match the recovery phone number on file for your account. If you don't see this, go to step 2.
2. Click Yes, send me a verification code to have a verification code sent to this phone number by SMS text, or click Call me with a verification code to receive a phone call with your verification code.
3. Enter the verification code in the field provided.
4. Click Submit.
5. You'll see a success message. Click Create a new password.
6. Enter the new password you'd like to use in both the New password and Confirm new password fields.
7. Click Continue.
8. Click Ok, got it.

Send a verification code to your recovery email address

1. The recovery information on file for your account will determine which option you see first:

- If you have a recovery email address on file, but no recovery phone number, you'll see a "Do you have access to this email?" message, with the email address listed below this. Click Yes, send me a verification code.

- If you have both a recovery email address and recovery phone number on file, you'll see a phone number listed with a request to enter missing digits. Click I don't have access to this phone. You'll see a screen with that lists your recovery email address. Click Yes, send me a verification code.

2. Sign in to your recovery email account.
- If you use webmail, make sure you sign in to your recovery email account using a new tab or window so you don't exit the verification screen. You'll need to keep the verification screen open so you can go back and enter the verification code.

3. Open a message from AOL with the subject line, "Recover access to your AOL account." This email has your verification code.
4. Return to the browser window or tab where you're resetting your CompuServe account password and enter the verification code from the email in the field provided.
5. Click Continue.
- You'll see a success message if you've entered the correct code.
6. Click Create a new password.
7. Enter the new password you'd like to use in both the New password and Confirm new password fields.
8. Click Continue.
9. Click Ok, got it.

Verify your Account Security Question and profile information

If you have an Account Security Question (ASQ) on file for your account and no recovery phone number or recovery email address, you may be asked to enter the answer to this along with verifying other profile information.

1. Enter the answer to your Account Security Question.
2. Click Verify.
3. Enter any requested profile information. You may be asked to supply your name, date of birth, zip code, or other information on file for your account.
4. Click Continue.
- You may be prompted to verify more than one piece of profile information. If this happens, click Continue after entering each requested item.
5. Once verified, you'll see a success message. Click Create a new password.
6. Enter the new password you'd like to use in both the New password and Confirm new password fields.
7. Click Continue.
8. Click Ok, got it.
