Your first monthly fee has been waived; however, we bill you at the end of each month for the following month's fee plus any communication surcharges, premium services, and purchases made. 

Therefore, the monthly fee you saw at the end of your first month's bill is for your second month of service.  Communication surcharges may still apply and would be charged monthly along with any premium service charges or purchases made to your CompuServe bill.
